Missing his keys for the last 3 hours while also sorts of "evil" paranoid thoughts as to what could have happened to them transpire!
Garvald looks all around his house and then he thinks they have to be in his bedroom. He lifts his king sized mattress taking up 85% of the "mother in law's" bedroom floor (it used to be Alene's mothers room for more than a decade) so he can find his key. No luck. He resorts to a lick of the few grains left in of one of his adderalls left all over his territory in case he forgets where he left his medication. Garvald has all sorts of ways to cope with his disability. He feels his mind kick in and EUREKA! He thinks to actually look in his shorts that he already crossed off his mind to look in. He thinks,
"If the keys are not in my shorts, then I am as usual shit out of luck! "
The way Murphy's laws have a pic of Garvald in the "Encyclopedia of Follies!" (There is not such a book I don't think?)In his bathroom library while in search of his keys he just randomly opens up to the book of Buddhism to a chapter on "emptiness". It makes him realize that anything above emptiness is great like his principal at Wewoka told him about the philosophy of being "a dead man walking!" He has to keep reminding himself of how lucky he is to be existing on this earth...all the elements combining to make him a living breathing creature. Happy to find his keys, the chance for freedom and to still explore this "spaceship earth" and all of are us a combination of parts of the earth and the universe.

Early Buddhism, with its teaching on not-self or anatta, taught that there is no such thing as an enduring self or soul. In reality, the self is made up of five impermanent constituents (khandhas) - the body, feelings, perception, mental formations (including volition) and consciousness. As Buddhism developed, the anatta doctrine was subsumed into something more extensive in which all phenomena were seen to be 'empty' of self or essence. This concept, known as sunyata or 'emptiness', is a key feature of Mahayana Buddhism. Such a term may appear, on the face of it, to have negative connotations, as though something is lacking. The opposite is in fact true. In Buddhism, the realization of emptiness equates to the experience of nibbana (nirvana) and therefore the cessation of suffering or dukkha.Crucial to the sunyata doctrine is the notion that the world is made up of a stream of ever changing elements, dharmas. Rather than seeing these dharmas, we create concepts which approximate what is really there. The world as we see it, therefore, is ultimately illusory - a fabrication of mind. Mahayana philosophy sees truth as of being two kinds, conventional and ultimate. Conventional truth is the world as we normally see it; ultimate truth is the world as it really is. The two don't exactly adhere - the world of conventional truth is a world of appearances; the world of ultimate truth is sunyata.


Meditation on Emptiness

Through particular types of meditation, it is possible to disperse this illusion. In the New Kadampa Tradition, this process is referred to as 'Superior Seeing', a particular meditation technique that consists of two contemplations. In the first, for example, you focus on the emptiness of the self or 'I'. In this 'We should imagine that our body gradually dissolves into thin air, and then our minds dissolve, our thoughts scatter with the wind, our feelings, wishes, and awareness melt into nothingness' (from The Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso).

Of course, this can all be understood at a conceptual level
but the real benefit of emptiness is in its realization! So finding my keys and being happy finding some sort of permanence or stability in the ever changing stream of elements. Yet learning to go with the flow, not fighting the flow so much but taking the wave and being in that curl so that the spark of life continues for as long as the wave will take you!
I'm watching water polo and doing my best to go with the flow on the situation of my home. I do enjoy the fact that I do still have a home and I'm not homeless (currently jobless but of my own volition) while I clean out my home and make it a little more empty from all the clutter that symbolizes all the shit that has been stored in my mind. When I learn to cope with all this clutter and focus on what is important to save will only help me with the potential I have. Most often in my life I have had very little focus and I know especially from teaching kids with processing and organizing problems how it disables you. Discipline and a plan is so essential to overcome ADD! My mother would always tell me proudly of her younger brother, Uncle Ron, who was only average in school, made it a point of always writing down what he had to do the next day. He continued as manager of his father's meat packing factories in Brisbane and Towoomba, Queensland and had a successful business, life and family (with 3 beautiful daughters and wonderful grandchildren!)
My life has often been a culmination of failing to plan but I know that I'm regrouping here in my home of 23 years before I decide on the plan for the rest of my life. I hope that the book will show how I will finally get my engine fixed and ready to fly to the stars while learning to live in the now and enjoying the process of this journey!
I hope that others that read this website will also get a little insight or just enjoy the little tidbits of thoughts that I might throw out to the winds of the universe!

Today (yesterday since its almost 2am!) has been a state of vegetation, depression, inactivity and the Olympics. I wake up to find my ex/tenant did not tell me that he had cut off the water and was nice enough to leave me a 215$ OG&E bill and not pay the last months rent before he stormed out angry at me when I told him that I would be officially moving into my house in 30 days ... I had been alternating weeks between Kansas City and OKC.. So I guess he rationalized that since I was moving back into his "home" he should leave me with all the bills and not pay the rent that was almost 2 weeks past due. How many in the audience would like to keep their house at 70 and then have the landlord pay it for the summer??

People always say I have it coming and I think they are often right and that's why shit always happens to me but I wonder if this story of hard luck happens to others with this type of ADD disability where I lack the ability to organize. This problem with rent and tenant problems if I was better organized and have everything spelled out. For example requiring a deposit and paying rent on time if he wished to stay at my place.
Why do I bring these problems out into the weird world of cyberspace? Maybe to let others know that they are not alone in these types of trials and tribulations. Let me show you all this excerpt to help understand dealing with space cadets as myself. (sometimes a self effacing sense of humor helps one deal with such pathos).

AND OTHER MANIPULATIONS, GREENS CALL FOR
VIGILANCE IN 2004 AND ELECTION REFORMS


WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green leaders and candidates
are calling national attention to apparent
efforts to intimidate African American voters in
Florida.

Citing reports in a series of columns by Bob
Herbert of The New York Times that Florida state
troopers are interrogating elderly black voters
on vague charges of 'voter fraud', Greens warn of
a repeat of 2000's manipulation and obstruction
of votes. The Florida Department of Law
Enforcement reports to Gov. Jeb Bush.

"The latest attempt to suppress black votes in
Florida recalls not only 2000, but the history of
obstruction and terrorism of African American
voters in southern states," said Michele
Tingling-Clemmons, co-chair of the Green Party's
national Black Caucus and candidate for city
council (Ward 7) in Washington, D.C. "Bush
supporters are preparing a battery of means to
ensure their candidate's reelection, including
misusing homeland security forces to frighten
elderly black voters away from absentee voting.
Other methods include the use of computerized
voting, which can be easily tampered with, as
well as hints that the Bush Administration may
postpone the November election if it decides the
U.S. is under threat of attack, a dastardly
attempt to intimidate Americans away from voting
their conscience."

Greens have called for verifiable paper trails,
auditability, and open software in computer
voting machines to prevent manipulation.

The Green Party has called attention to other
ways in which elections have been engineered:
restrictive and difficult state ballot access
laws enacted by Democrats and Republicans to
block third party and independent candidates;
underhanded efforts by Democrats to banish Greens
and independents (including Ralph Nader) from the
ballot; ownership by the Democratic and
Republican parties of the Commission on
Presidential Debates (labeled partisan in an
August 12 Federal Court decision).

Greens have also called the winner-take-all
apportionment of Electoral College votes in most
states a deliberate distortion of the will of
voters as expressed through the popular vote.

The Green Party's national Black Caucus and the
D.C. Statehood Green Party have called for
allocation of state electors' votes in proportion
to the popular vote. Many Greens have hailed a
state ballot initiative ('Amendment 36') to enact
this reform in Colorado.

"Americans need to be more vigilant in 2004 than
ever before to ensure that our elections are fair
and our votes are counted accurately," said
LaVerne Butler, treasurer of the Black Caucus.
"Unless we demand immediate accountability and
reforms, we'll see our democratic election system
replaced with something that resembles the
elections of Augusto Pinochet, Ferdinand Marcos,
or Saddam Hussein."

WASHINGTON (Aug. 25) -- An election lawyer for President Bush who also has been advising a veterans group running TV ads against Democrat John Kerry resigned Wednesday from Bush's campaign.

''I cannot begin to express my sadness that my legal representations have become a distraction from the critical issues at hand in this election,'' Benjamin Ginsberg wrote in a resignation letter to Bush released by the campaign.

''I feel I cannot let that continue, so I have decided to resign as national counsel to your campaign to ensure that the giving of legal advice to decorated military veterans, which was entirely within the boundaries of the law, doesn't distract from the real issues upon which you and the country should be focusing.''

Ginsberg's acknowledgment Tuesday evening that he was providing legal advice to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth marked the second time in days that a person associated with the Bush-Cheney campaign had been connected to the group, which Kerry accuses of being a front for the Republican incumbent's re-election effort.

The Bush campaign and the veterans' group have said repeatedly that there is no coordination.

Lawyers on the Democratic side are also representing both the campaign or party and outside groups running ads in the presidential race. Ginsberg's dual role has drawn attention because of an ad the Swift Boat Veterans group ran accusing Kerry of exaggerating his Vietnam War record, an issue that has dominated the campaign since early August.

Kerry has fired back by accusing Bush of using the group to run a smear campaign for him. Democrats have jumped on any tie, even if legal, to back up that claim.

''The sudden resignation of Bush's top lawyer doesn't end the extensive web of connections between George Bush and the group trying to smear John Kerry's military record,'' Kerry-Edwards campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill said Wednesday. ''In fact, it only confirms the extent of those connections.''

In Ginsberg's letter to Bush, he accused the media of a ''stunning double standard'' between its focus on the activities of groups supporting Kerry and those that oppose him.

Kerry is the subject of complaints by the Bush campaign and the Republican National Committee accusing his campaign of illegally coordinating anti-Bush ads with soft-money groups on the Democratic side, allegations Kerry and the groups deny.

Neither campaign has produced proof of coordination on the part of its rival.




Joe Sandler, a lawyer for the DNC and a group running anti-Bush ads, MoveOn.org, said there is nothing wrong with serving in both roles at once.

In addition to the FEC's coordination rules, attorneys are ethically bound to maintain attorney-client confidentiality, Sandler said. They could lose their law licenses if they violate that, he said.

Ginsberg said Tuesday he never told the Bush campaign what he discussed with the veterans group, or vice versa, and didn't advise the group on ad strategies.

The group ''came to me and said, 'We have a point of view we want to get into the First Amendment debate right now. There's a new law. It's very complicated. We want to comply with the law, will you keep us in the bounds of the law?''' Ginsberg said in an interview with The Associated Press. ''I said yes, absolutely, as I would do for anyone.''

Ginsberg said he had not yet decided whether to charge the Swift Boat Veterans a fee for his work.

On Saturday, retired Air Force Col. Ken Cordier resigned as a member of the Bush campaign's veterans' steering committee after it was learned that he appeared in the commercial.

Ginsberg represented the Bush campaign in 2000 and became a prominent figure during the Florida recount.

He also served as counsel to the RNC in its unsuccessful lawsuit seeking to overturn the new federal campaign finance law, which banned the national party committees from collecting corporate and union contributions and unlimited donations known as soft money and imposed stricter rules on coordination involving parties, candidates and interest groups.

Larry Noble, head of the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics campaign watchdog group and former FEC general counsel, said it's true that serving as a lawyer for both a campaign and a soft-money group isn't considered automatic evidence of coordination under commission rules, but he added that it doesn't mean the FEC won't look at it.

''I think there's a valid question about when you're talking about strictly legal advice and when you're talking about policy issues and strategic issues,'' Noble said. ''It's fair to ask what the advice is about.''

OH and dear Anon, I'm sorry that you might harbor so much anger to go from a spell check cut to a "smart ass" cut. You as many of us have many issues that we are afraid to look inwardly at. I have dealt with the death of my wife passing over in this house/home in this land that I'm not happy in except when its a gorgeous day or I'm in love. I am discovering possibly through the great catharsis of writing what gives me the greatest happiness and fulfillment in case there might be a better place to go. I love this search and the writing that is involved with organizing this search with in my own soul. Our minds can be like the homes we live in with all the shit that's collected over 23 years! Its only up to us to organize and clean this mess within the closets and attics of our mind. This website is the very rough draft of this process that is going on within my home, my soul, my community, the place where I habituate. This website will eventually evolve into a book with the names changed to protect the guilty and so Bubbas will have less likelihood of coming after me. (I will thow in Bubba humor occasionally).
At the moment, teaching with power hungry administrators, and not the right location is not best for my health and for doing the best job of helping the children that will have my help when I am ready and fully rested.
When you are angry at someone its very often because you might despise that person deep inside yourself. We often don't accept the anger, greed, selfishness, and all these morally sinful traits in others when we haven't look deep inside ourselves to accept that we might have some or all of these characteristics. Teaching emotionally disturbed children takes a great toll on someone if they don't have a lot of patience and sometimes strain. I am not paid to help or do I have patience as much with emotionally disturbed adults especially when they don't accept that they have issues to cause such deep rooted anger.
I often use humor even learning to laugh at myself and my frequent mistakes. My own own heart has to forgive myself first before I can forgive others.

Oh, what a beautiful DAY!..

Its amazing how the weather and the sun makes me feel so different day to day...not a cloud in the sky and just feeling good, waking up from a release from all the tension!
The tenant/roomate was so angry last night about using a cup of his, for bleach and I dont remember that but maybe I did it without thinking looking for an old cup to use. Bleach does not ruin an old plastic cup. It only cleans out the shit and maggots that might be growing in it! Its amazing how some people get nuts over things like that and then think that bugs flying all over a blue light in your garage leaving dead bud droppings along with mice dropings all over your king sized bed thats been moved into the garage with the bugs and Willardo's colony, is petty!! (MUffy, was that a run on sentence?)
Speaking of Willardo, I havent heard from him lately so maybe that trip to Walmart helped last week! :)

Had a couple of bowls and Im feeling slightly euphoric about things even though nothing has been solved for me as to where Im going right now but sometimes I just wake up and have the feeling that things will be OK (sorry to use the phrase!)

Do I regret going to KC even though, Im a year older with more worries, more physical and emotional strain of having another Groundhog year?

All these silly things we worry about when it wouldn't make a difference if we were to die tomorrow! Learning, from Bob T, my former principal and mentor at a rural school, to be a "dead man walking" has the best way of learning to live, work and enjoy life as if there might be no tomorrow and to savor every moment that our souls are physically on this earth. Its funny that his school district was in the news last night for spanking a child with that new buzz word, "sensory integration dysfunction", for kids that are having a hard time catching up with many things that kids can do academically and socially of kids their own age. I worked with one student with this "diagnosis" and he showed great progress as far as keeping his behavior in check. The mother of the boy in the news was complaining about his boy's butt being really red. I am old school as far as corporal punishment and the schools policy of effective discipline for students. Just knowing that you have a principal and especially a parent in regards to letting the student know that he/she will have consequences for inappropriate behavior that they know they can control, helps with an effective behavior management program for the student.

For the next 2 weeks, the chiro college where I get adjustments will only be open m, w, friday so I will go there wed or friday depending on how the volatility of the situation in my home will stabilize. Maybe Muffy will be at the time of the month where she might long to see me :)

Walk out the door. That is the best way to deal with anger directed towards you. I think how can I avoid a confrontation with an emotionally disturbed and very angry student or adult. Fight or flight. Flying most times is much safer and just learning to pick your battles, whether it is with student, tenant or girlfriend!

Muffy is going out on a date tonight and she became angry when I inquired about it. So I shouldnt feel guilty about a date either if i can find a bar before its too late to go!
I understand that Im not financially stable at the moment and not teaching. Its hard for her to understand me having this crazy idea about travelling around America and then gradually increasing my orbit around OKlahoma to the world! The whole process of rebirth and recuperation will take time. I need to make peace with myself and discover these dormant talents within me. I want her understand and be my companion through parts of this journey if she still wants to come with me. When I self actualize and understand my limitations and strenghts I will be so much better able devote myself to Muffy or whomever my companion will be.

Some moments, I feel speechless and others depending on the nuggets, Im "diareah" of the mouth". Muffy feels that I should edit these litte essays before I let everyone see them. I just feel that if there is editing before hand then nothing will be up there spontaneously for my readers to respond to!
Feel good that I at least have my resume out there for 5 states to look at and letting it happen like craps and a roll of the dice. I feel that if life is just a roll of craps then its best to lay the odds. Getting true odds without the house against you, you can win big. I would like to lay the odds on some publisher picking up this site and finding the essays that he or she likes and then advising me to go with it! Thats all it will take for Garvald to take that rocket.
The biggest disadvantage for taking this trek, is not a good major medical and paying sky high rates to keep my esophagus, prostate and focus in check! (prescritions)
Well Muffy will be home soon. Hope shes in a good mood. I think she will be cuz she doesnt have to work the next two days and her loving daughter is not here to spoil her mood!

Arrived late last night In Lees Summit missin the outdoor concert but happy to be with someone that welcomes you and you feel at home with!

They have a lot of concerts outdoors in downtown Lees Summit and then sidewalk fairs. Last Thursday, Muffy ran after the train as Kerry, Edward and their wives were waving from the moving caboose going through Lees Summit at midnight! I was hearing her message on my cell phone when Bubba came over trying to fight me last thursday at Bumpys! How ironic is it that I missed them (the caboose with our hopefully, future adminstration) to suffer smackdowns in Bumpys instead! Thats the story of my life :(

I debated about whether to respond but I know that you (the neighbor who wrote the comment below)and her husband have a personal interest in the person that was renting my home. Originally he had told me he was moving out in the spring. Then he had obviously became attached to my home and I liked the way he was keeping it up and I could tolerate it up to a point late rent and no communication.
Finding out when I didn't receive rent for almost 2 months and that he had to buy a very expensive water heater that covered all of the months rent made me almost to the point of evicting him especially when coming back to find out I had to rehook the gas.
He would not return any phone calls for several weeks in the spring when I wanted to find out how long he was wanting to stay at my home.. The neighbor was an intermediary and he was the one who insisted that my tenant would be a reliable renter but then complaining I was starving him so he could pay the rent. I installed a phone in July so that we could communicate well. I had told him at the end of July that I would be living at my own house on and off since I did not have a place to stay since the end of June.
I gave notice that I would be moving in officially in a month even though I was still not sure of my plans to get a job in Kansas City. I have been going to Kcity each week for back treatment. I was saying that there would be a good chance that I would be traveling around the country in a month but there could be a good chance that I would be staying alot of time in my house. He then became very loud and screaming to the point that I was afraid that he would be violent. He then walked out with his firearms not wanting to listen or make some mutual agreement as far as rent and utilities. He did not pay this months rent or even the 2 weeks rent that he said that he had for me. Every month it was like pulling teeth to get any rent money.
He is also refusing to pay the electric bill when he continually said that he would pay it and had a health condition that required he keep the house very cold, so as I feared, I am stuck with another bill 215$ for electricity.
His neighbor has insisted that he come get his things but I feared for my safety and taking things that are not his especially his since I left my house furnished. I let him take liberties with my many of my things but they were to borrow while he was living in my house and not to take with him. The neighbor who was cussing at me this am came and got his laundry. I have insisted that a policeman be present when the other items are taken out of the house for the violent aggressive nature of this individual. He has threatened me with a lawyer. I almost willing to let 2 weeks of rent go if he were to pay the electricity bill but he will not talk to me. My neighbor insisted that he always pays his bills.
I am sorry to bore the audience in cyber world and I know Harry will have a field day with this one but I know that my neighbor who wrote the sweet comment above might read this and understand that I have bent over backwards to accommodate him with rent coming down 100$ and not unfortunately requiring a deposit for him to prevent him from walking out anytime and sticking me with the electricity bill beside the gas, and the phone.. The only utility he paid consistently was the water bill. He was mad because I would be staying at my house a lot more. he expects to just walk out of an agreement without rent and utilities almost like my house should be a charity for him.
It is very difficult being a landlord especially when you offer it at a cheap price. Things are torn up and doesn't make it worthwhile to tolerate all the aggravation and yelling. I guess I will learn or make sure that everything in writing and have a couple of months deposit to cover these types of things. I know I have made a lot of mistakes and Im sorry that I ever made a deal with neighbor that I thought that I could trust.
Well, I am tired now and pray that tomorrow will be a nice day without all the confrontation and anger. I am sorry that I rented out the house and you think about how all this hassle is not worth it. Make sure to always to things in writing, but I was happy to find a renter even though he didn't move in until November and told me that he would be moving out in the spring making it easy for me to move back into my home in the summer. They are acting like I am moving him out but he chose to move out on his own. After seeing his rages, I think it would be much safer.
I know Harry will get a great kick out of this and has more chance of reading this than my neighbor....I know, Muffy, that my life is like a comedy/tragedy that more shit happens to me or is like this with many other people.
I guess thats how the phrase "shit happens" but it happens more than all the turds left as fertilizer on my neighbors' lawn.

All these thoughts going thru my mind: fear, paranoia, anger, desperation at the numbers of them just continuing to invade his home and his neighborhood.
Sometimes he was afraid to walk outside for fear that one of these

Bush's DWI revelation at the end of the 2000 Presidential campaign may have been leaked to cover a much bigger scandal

On November 2, 2000, four days before the most disputed election in American history, military veterans in the US Senate lashed out at candidate George W Bush for his failure to explain a six-month lapse in his National Guard service. "At the least, I would have been court-martialed. At the least, I would have been placed in prison," Senator Daniel Inouye said.



Bush would offer no explanation for his absence and, as he had throughout the campaign, refused to discuss his military service during the Vietnam War. Why would a man who was running for the office of Commander and Chief of the US Armed Forces refuse to discuss his service in the military? Why didn't the public and press take notice? Their attention that day was focused on something else.

That same day, while senators were asking for an explanation of Bush's National Guard absence, the media and the public were watching another breaking Bush scandal: the sudden revelation of a 1976 drunk driving conviction that Bush had failed to mention during the campaign. As Bush spent the final days before the election explaining to America that he hid the arrest to protect his daughters, the National Guard absence was swept under the rug, not made into a campaign issue by Democrats.

Both Candidates avoided making Vietnam an issue during the Presidential race of 2000. Bush and Al Gore, who served in Vietnam as an Army journalist, had a sort of unwritten understanding that their military service during the Vietnam war would not be a subject of campaign debate. Both had been accused of using their fathers' influence to avoid combat in the war. Gore's father was a senator, Bush's father was a Congressman.

The Washington Post reports that Bush joined the National Guard 12 days before his student deferment would have expired, and that in spite of his low score on the pilot's aptitude test (25, the lowest score allowed), and in spite of the waiting list that some kids spent years on, Bush was sworn in as an airman the day he applied. Indeed, so giddy was Bush's commander, Col. Walter B. "Buck" Staudt, that he later staged a special ceremony so he could have his picture taken giving Bush the oath, instead of the captain who actually had sworn Bush in. Bush spent two years learning to fly airplanes in his home state of Texas.

As the 2000 Presidential campaign moved along, angry veterans in Alabama claimed that George W Bush never performed any military service in that state, as stated on his campaign website. They offered a reward of $1000 (which rose to $3,500) to anyone who could prove that he had. No one came forth with any proof.
Eight days before the election, the Boston Globe reported discrepancies between the Bush campaign's statements regarding his military service and what records and documents showed. In 1972, the Globe reported, Bush moved from Houston to Mobile, Alabama to work on a Senate campaign. It was at this time, the Globe found, that he was suspended from flight duty for not taking his annual flight physical. Furthermore, the Globe could find no evidence that he ever performed any drills while in Alabama, or any more drills after returning to Houston.
Bush refused to answer any questions concerning the charges. His official White House biography states, "He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard before beginning his career in the oil and gas business in Midland in 1975..." but gives no further details about his military service.

WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin -- Texas Gov. George W. Bush acknowledged Thursday that in 1976 he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near his parents' home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Bush, who was 30 at the time, pleaded guilty, paid a $150 fine and his driving privileges were temporarily suspended in Maine.

Late Thursday evening, following a campaign rally in this tightly contested Midwestern state, Bush--with his wife, Laura, at his side -- told reporters news accounts of the incident were accurate, that he had been drinking in a bar with Australian tennis pro John Newcombe and others.


"I'm not proud of that. I made some mistakes. I occasionally drank too much, and I did that night. I learned my lesson." Bush said he was not jailed after the arrest. "I told the guy (the arresting officer) I had been drinking, what do I need to do? He said, 'here's the fine.' I paid the fine."


Bush said the timing of the initial news report, just days before Americans elect a new president, was "interesting." When asked where the story may have originated, he said, "I've got my suspicions."
