wow...we finally did the play....our utopachi version of Across the Pond Scum...
this morning I did not think we would actually be able to pull it off...
sometimes I am so proud of myself..all year i have been waiting for them to put on a great show and we amazingly did...
when the students that wanted to be a part of the play finally were motivated to learn their parts and rehearse
I told them that they didnt have to follow the script....just do the gist of the story and act it out...

We were serendipitously given the band room for our performance because the cafeteria had to be used by Mr. Faylor...

I realized when they werent held back by someone else's lines...they could create their own spontaneously....we were all hilarious..I played the cool principal and Angel played a teacher...
we created all these last minute scenes...finally rehearsing intensively from 2 till about 6..
We started off with Shawn doing some guitar an
d singing...I asked another teacher to read some of the selective bits of writing she enjoys to do...
and then the kids realized what it would be like performing...we did some deep breathing and then they were stars...
we had the small intimate audience cracking and laughing at all the spontaneous improv the kids created with the story mixed in with the original lines!!
