Powell Says U.S. Was 'Too Loud' Over Iraq
But Former Secretary of State Tells German Magazine That Saddam Had to Go
Powell, shown here in December, said he was "furious" that he had been misinformed about Iraq's stockpiles of arms before the war.
BERLIN (March 30) - The United States made errors in presenting its case for war against Iraq, but Saddam Hussein had to be removed, former Secretary of State Colin Powell told a German magazine.
"We were sometimes too loud, too direct, perhaps we made too much noise," Powell told Stern magazine in an interview released on Wednesday. "That certainly shocked the Europeans sometimes."
He said terms like "Old Europe," the expression coined by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to describe countries such as France and Germany that opposed the war, had not helped ease European concerns about Washington's policies.
But he said that despite the problems facing U.S. troops in Iraq, it was better that Saddam Hussein was no longer in power.
"Yes, the insurgency is much bigger than we anticipated. But I'm glad that Saddam is in jail," he said in the German article.
Powell said he had argued for a diplomatic solution against cabinet colleagues such as Vice President Dick Cheney, who did not believe that diplomacy would work.
"The situation with Saddam Hussein had to be resolved, either by taming him or by removing him by military means," he said. "I'm sure that the Vice President's view from the very beginning was: we'll never solve this through diplomatic means."
Powell said he was "furious and angry" that he had been misinformed about Iraq's stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction when he laid out the case for war before the United Nations Security Council in February, 2003.
"It was information from our security services and from some Europeans, including Germans. Some of this information was wrong. I did not know this at the time," he told the magazine.
"Hundreds of millions followed it on television. I will always be the one who presented it. I have to live with that."
But he said he had never considered resigning and rejected suggestions that his relationship with President Bush was a cool one.
"Anyone who says that has no idea. We are friends," he said.

Bullies not allowed in the United States of Canada but loved and tolerated in the bars of JesusLand!

Bullying in the Workplace
Psychological Violence Workplace Policies Needed Perpetrators and Targets
Profile of a Bully The Burden of Bullying Prevention
Employers are beginning to take steps to make bullying as unthinkable as sexual harassment or drunkenness in the workplace.
Schoolyard bullying - the torment of one child by another - is often compared to workplace bullying. Both types represent a grab for control by an insecure, inadequate person, (
like the bully in the corner of the bar barking out orders) an exercise of power through the humiliation of the target,
(the weird guy with the puppy who's writing about his website at the end of the bar )
School bullies, if reinforced by cheering classmates,(pubmates at Hudson's), fearful teachers or ignoring administrators, grow up to be dominating adults. When they join the work force, they continue to bully others.
Psychological Violence
A 1999 International Labour Organization (ILO) report on workplace violence emphasized that physical and emotional violence is one of the most serious problems facing the workplace in the new millennium. The ILO definition of workplace violence includes bullying:
"any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work. These behaviors would originate from customers, co-workers at any level of the organization. This definition would include all forms or harassment, bullying, intimidation, physical threats/assaults, robbery and other intrusive behaviors."
CUPE's National Health and Safety Survey of Aggression Against Staff, published in January, 1994, mentions verbal aggression and harassment in its definition of violence:
"Any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted during the course of his/her employment. This includes the application of force, threats with or without weapons, severe verbal abuse and persistent sexual and racial harassment."
Bullying (general harassment) is far more prevalent than other destructive behaviors covered by legislation, such as sexual harassment and racial discrimination.
A Canadian survey on workplace violence found that physical violence is often reported from outside sources, such as customers, students and patients. Psychological violence is more often reported from within the organization. A U.S. study estimates 1 in 5 American workers has experienced destructive bullying in the past year.
Workplace Policies Needed
On April 6, 1999, a former employee of OC Transpo in Ottawa went on a shooting rampage that left four employees dead, then took his own life. The killer had himself been the victim of workplace harassment.
Among the recommendations of a coroner's inquest was that the definition of workplace violence should include not only physical violence but also psychological violence such as bullying, mobbing, teasing, ridicule or any other act or words that could psychologically hurt or isolate a person in the workplace.
No jurisdiction in Canada requires employers to have a workplace violence prevention program. For that reason, the OC Transpo jury recommended that federal and provincial governments enact legislation to prevent workplace violence and that employers develop policies to address violence and harassment.
Perpetrators and Targets
Over 80 per cent of bullies are bosses, some are co-workers and a minority bully higher-ups. A bully is equally likely to be a man or a woman.
The common stereotype of a bullied person is someone who is weak, an oddball or a loner. On the contrary, the target chosen by an adult bully will very often be a capable, dedicated staff member, well liked by co-workers. Bullies are most likely to pick on people with an ability to cooperate and a non-confrontative interpersonal style. The bully considers their capability a threat, and determines to cut them down.
It's a shame Martian consider's others more intelligent, more educated and not as ugly as him, a threat! so read this before BB or Martin before your liver bursts:
Profile of a Bully
Adult bullies, like their schoolyard counterparts, tend to be insecure people with poor or non-existent social skills and little empathy. They turn this insecurity outwards, finding satisfaction in their ability to attack and diminish the capable people around them. Doesn't this bloke sound familiar, Clarence, Martin, Ms. Sanchez?
A workplace bully subjects the target to unjustified criticism and trivial fault-finding. In addition, he or she humiliates the target, especially in front of others, and ignores, overrules, isolates and excludes the target. (the bully of Hudson's did a wonderful job of getting many of his codependents to side with him)
Sound familiar??.....You really need to learn some empathy, Snidely Liverworst
If the bully is the target's superior, he or she may: set the target up for failure by setting unrealistic goals or deadlines, or denying necessary information and resources;
Muffy, does that not remind you of Ms. C and her own desire to control the middle school?either overload the target with work or take all work away (sometimes replacing proper work with demeaning jobs); or increase responsibility while removing authority.
Regardless of specific tactics, the intimidation is driven by the bully's need to control others.
The Burden of Bullying
Bullied employees waste between 10 and 52 per cent of their time at work. Research shows they spend time defending themselves and networking for support, thinking about the situation, being demotivated and stressed, not to mention taking sick leave due to stress-related illnesses.
Or
they can take time off for a mid/life hiatus to heal, relax, write a book and still enjoy life while they are young!~Fuck it, I think I'll take Buffy out for a beautiful walk in the Hefner Dog park and meet some beautiful platonic ladies to share the camera with me and Buffy. Maybe the'll come over for friendly libations at the Red Rooster! But first I gotta head for UCO to fix up my resume for the job fair next week1back to the real world :( and reality, Muffy.I am not you project!Cheerio , Mates and ani-mates! :) Oh what a gorgeous day, Com' on Buffy, let's have some fun with all those animals out there!
Think, Mr. Bully, how you cause your place of employment so much wasted time from your harassment and then sickness from lung cancer and cirrohsis of the liver!
Bullies poison their working environment with low morale, fear, anger, and depression. The employer pays for this in lost efficiency, absenteeism, high staff turnover, severance packages and law suits. In extreme cases, a violent incident may be the tragic outcome.
and from bending the fingers back of innocent customers of Henry Hudson's!
The target's family and friends also suffer the results of daily stress and eventual breakdown. Marriages suffer or are destroyed under the pressure of the target's anxiety and anger. Friendships cool because the bullied employee becomes obsessive about the situation.
Moreover, our health care system ends up repairing the damage: visits to the doctor for symptoms of stress, prescriptions for antidepressants, and long term counseling or psychiatric care. In this sense, we all pay.
Prevention
Workplace bullies create a tremendous liability for the employer by causing stress-related health and safety problems, and driving good employees out of the organization.
The business case for strict anti-bullying policies is compelling. Potential benefits include a more peaceful and productive workplace, with better decision making, less time lost to sick leave or self-defensive paperwork, higher staff retention, and a lower risk of legal action.
Identify bullying in your staff handbook as unacceptable behavior. Establish proper systems for investigating, recording and dealing with conflict. Investigate complaints quickly, while maintaining discretion and confidentiality and protecting the rights of all individuals involved. It is important to understand fully any incidence of bullying and take the problem seriously at all levels.
Organizations who manage people well outperform those who don't by 30 to 40 per cent. Development of strong interpersonal skills at all levels is fundamental to good management and a healthy workplace.
There is no place for bullies in a well-run organization.
Or in a well run pub or restaurant even when the bartender is insecure.
Friends, Romans, Okies and emotionally disturbed readers, lend me your egos...
I was thinking before about how emotionally disturbed students would try to get on my nerves. They would find a sensitive cord such as my wife that passed away or they would attack my integrity threatening that their parents will have my job!
I learned not to play their game until they caught themselves out. Then they would become angry when they had to go to time out and write sentences about their selfish behavior.
When this material gets published, I'm sure that the scum that writes the perverted comments will want to come out into the open. They revel in violence from the shelter of anonymity.
I have been enjoying the past few days of sunshine while carrying on a conversation with DayWalker, I'm glad that he hasn't gone down to the level of the scum than enjoys leaving anonymous 6th grade level comments on the tag board. Muffy finds these immature comments amusing. These comments only shows the sane (unfortunately silent audience) how demented these enlargements of livers can be.
It reminds me of a bloke named Randy who would always try to cut anyone down that took away attention from him. He would then become almost violent if you cock blocked him from getting laid and you went home with her instead of him. He was a true example of scum rising to their level of incompetence in administration. (Don't get me started!)
I wish that I was writing more but knowing that most of the audience lately are Stepford clones of Martin. Or maybe it is him pretending to be 11 different personalities..Kinda' like Sybill, but with a redneck inbred type of logic to their thinking.
Well I think that I'll take my favorite puppy to to one of my favorite places where dogs are allowed but rednecks are ostracized!
Lata Mates and aninimated "acquaintances"!

Shade's of Skippy Shy
It's a shame some "humans" have nothing better to do than act like middle school students that have severe emotional problems. They would be cruel about anything just so they could have their way. If someone very dear passed away they would store it in their memory as ammunition for when they were having temper tantrums.
These children grow up often with little empathy or even conscience for others that cross their path or desire for what they want. They said whatever they could just to hurt and cause pain. These kids were often abused or separated from their parents at an early age. They often grow up very angry at the world and they grow up with not an appropriate way to vent their anger. Very often they go to jail but sometimes they actually get work but still will do things without a concience when folks cross their path.
I wonder what Bubba/Billy Bob/Virgil/Martin's excuse is. It is sad. Sometimes they grow up to be just wasted space at the corner of a bar enlarging their liver barking orders at the bartender or bending fingers back of innocent victims. This doesn't satisfy their desire to show off their insecure spot on the "pecker" order. These humans can more have fun being bullies as sexual predators on the internet. Very sad.
So this is his sophomoric reply:
Hi there just your local corner of the bar bully here. Let me translate his crap. "I entered the bar began picking arguments and tossing insults. Then for no reason at all everyone hated me."
Lets be fair JOHN I did not bend your fingers back what I did do was say if you hit me again there would be a problem.# posted by DAYWALKER : 9:23 AM
This is an example of how this creature enjoys twisting words and rationalizing his behavior. The first step on his recovery is to realize that he is a bully. Congratulations Daywalker/Martin! The next step is to start accepting the truth about his sick twisted perverted behavior. The biggest step is for him understand why he enjoys hurting others. When he understands empathy he might be less likely to bother others. Maybe he can look deep inside his childhood when he was bullied or abused to find out his anger.
Here was another one of these comments that looks very familiar,,,your behavior reminds me much of an assistant principal in dire need of the 12 step program and serious deep therapy to get through his layers of issues and his closet perversions:
One more thing, I don't want to go to another website. I am having way too much fun on this one. I just love reading about the sick bullshit that your mentally ill mind concocts. It is also really funny when you use some unknown persons posting as a reference to your conspiracy theories (I think you call them essays). Do you think a piece of chewed gum is art? Just asking. Do you stay up all night thinking of really cool adjectives to use the next day for your comedy routine on this site? When you pray at night dose it sound like this "Dear God, please let me think of something really clever to say to those nasty repuklicans. I keep having to use the same tired phrases over and over again. My stoned, feeble, selfdiagnosed ADD mind can't think of anything better than "pios hippo potasses". I know that it was lame, but that was the best I could come up with against the morally superior Repuklicans. Please help me because I keep having to write the same shit over and over again. Democrats dont even visit my site because, except for the funny but true postings, my content really sucks. I don't even believe half of the shit that I write. Please HELP. AMEN". By the way, Muffy, I still have not heard from you. Please write. Garv, Your assignment is to respond to each and every statement (sentence)that I wrote. He would love to interupt with sick jokes similar to the above whenever he was losing arguments reminiscent of the learned behavior of disturbed middle school bullies that kept their behaviors and violent tantrums into adulthood...

DeLay Unplugged
Posted 12:52 pm Printer Friendly
People say different things when they're among friends than they do when everyone's watching. It's only human nature; we're more inclined to let our guard down and speak our minds when we're confident that no one will use our words against us later.
Which is exactly why Tom DeLay's remarks to the Family Research Council last week about the Terri Schiavo controversy were so illuminating. DeLay was laying it all on the line because he thought everyone in the room was an ally. Fortunately for the rest of us, he was wrong.
First, let's back up a moment. The first hint that the Republicans' concern for Terri Schiavo had more to do with politics than a "culture of life" came Friday night. A talking points memo from the GOP leadership described Schiavo's plight as a "great political issue," and encouraged Republican lawmakers to keep their base in mind: "This is an important moral issue and the pro-life base will be excited that the Senate is debating this important issue." A party of moralists anxious to do what's right without concern for partisan gain? Not so much.
But DeLay's comments to the FRC, delivered the same night the GOP memo reached lawmakers, should help expose this exploitative charade entirely.
On Friday, as the leaders of both chambers scrambled to try to stop the removal of Ms. Schiavo's feeding tube, Mr. DeLay, a Texas Republican, turned his attention to social conservatives gathered at a Washington hotel and described what he viewed as the intertwined struggle to save Ms. Schiavo, expand the conservative movement and defend himself against accusations of ethical lapses.
"One thing that God has brought to us is Terri Schiavo, to help elevate the visibility of what is going on in America," Mr. DeLay told a conference organized by the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian group. A recording of the event was provided by the advocacy organization Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
"This is exactly the issue that is going on in America, of attacks against the conservative movement, against me and against many others," Mr. DeLay said.
Mr. DeLay complained that "the other side" had figured out how "to defeat the conservative movement," by waging personal attacks, linking with liberal organizations and persuading the national news media to report the story. He charged that "the whole syndicate" was "a huge nationwide concerted effort to destroy everything we believe in."
There was no reason for niceties or subtleties, so DeLay didn't use any. The result was DeLay Unplugged.

Pathetic loser with no life
"Are you sure Arlene didn't kill herself so she wouldn't have to listen to your babbling garbabe any more. Just wondering. Muffy, you never call any more, what's up with that?"
You wrote this to show everyone what a piece of fecal matter that you truly are. You have definitely gone below the belt. You prefer to be an outright pig and make comments that are so crude that I really feel sorry for your state of mental deterioration.
You are an emotionally disturbed individual and remind me of the middle school students that bring up long departed loved ones to really hurt. You must be really hurting inside to read my website and make very inappropriate comments.
In the future readers will have to register in order to leave comments, but you are scum and a coward so would not dare to do that.
I was not sure whether to erase it because how nasty it was but I want others to see what sub-species of humans are out there. You appently have no conscience or empathy.
Maybe you suffered reactive detachment disorder or were abused as a child to behave this way. Maybe you were adopted and became a deranged assistant principal on a power trip. Who knows?...I just know that you have no life.
How dare you!
Seek help and therapy. Do not leave comments on my site anymore!

I was not sure whether to post this but I think everyone needs to see how cruel, heartless people can be when they are invisible. I do like comments when they are constructive. Do not emphasize facts that I know about such as Alene or the fact that I am choosing to take some time off. I know that there are many folks that hide their insecurities by looking for them in others. They do not want to accept when they have frailties or deep seated issues. It is much "safer" for them to knock someone down with words that will hurt the most. This makes them feel better.
Sometimes they grow out of these insecurities and sometimes
Tuesday March 22nd
I wasn't sure whether to start a whole new essay titled, "
Shades of Skippy Shy" about a reocurrence of back to when I was in the sixth grade continually bullied and harassed by Skippy and his gang. Now a bloke with about the same intellience and much more unbridled and unrestrained testosterone barely "21",
unleashes a barrage of fisticuffs into my bald head, after bullying me for the past few weeks at Mike's. I think that I set myself into a pattern of giving an ex-Juvy the chance to be friends. He and a friend came over to my place, smoked my stuff, ate my food, drank my beer watching my TV. I first made the mistake of letting this emotionally disturbed ADHD kid disrespect me while in the hospitality of my home. I made the mistake of tolerating instead of the normal kicking the disturbed neanderthal out of the house. (I realize that I have to learn to not let people take advantage of my good nature. I have let deranged middle school students disrespect me or ignored it. As my friend, Dave said, the problem was ignoring the first bit of disrespect. He would have kicked him out of his house with the first insult.
I will write more about the last weekend. Forgive me that I have not written more but I need enough pain killers, smoke and Premium Select, to write about this continuing trauma that others might accuse me of inspiring. Do I bring it on myself? Duh! I could have avoided this situation by leaving the bar at the first altercation or famous quotation,
"WHO THE FUCK U LOOKIN' AT?

The GOP Leader's Troubles Mount, with New Questions About His Dealings With the Former Aide Who Helped Build His Political Machine

House Majority Whip Tom DeLay's reputation for getting things done, and getting his way, has earned him the nickname "the Hammer."

· Defense Fund Efforts Step Up
· Firm, Tribe Paid for DeLay Junket, According to Report
(March 13) - Ed Buckham's name was one you didn't hear much outside the secluded corridor where he worked on the first floor of the Capitol. But in that suite, which houses the majority whip's offices, Buckham was far more than an ordinary congressional aide in the three heady years following the Republican takeover of the House in 1994. Thanks to an unusually close and trusting relationship with his boss, Tom DeLay's chief of staff quietly became one of the most powerful people in Washington.
"He was the guy DeLay turned to when he made a final decision," recalls a former aide to a member of the House Republican leadership, "and even after he made the final decision, the guy who could talk him out of it."
What even fewer people outside that office knew was that the two shared a bond that transcended power and politics: Buckham, a licensed nondenominational minister, was also DeLay's pastor. For a while, in DeLay's early days as whip, they organized daily voluntary prayer sessions for the staff--until it began making some aides uncomfortable. After that, according to two sources who worked in the office at the time, the two of them frequently prayed together privately, joining hands in DeLay's office.
Buckham shared not only DeLay's religious faith but also his audacious vision for harnessing the financial and political clout of business and conservative interests to carry out the G.O.P. agenda and increase its majority in Congress. DeLay offered lobbyists the best seats they had ever had at the table, a say in legislative and political strategy, on the understanding that they in return would pour millions into DeLay's favored causes and candidates. In addition, he threatened to shut out lobbying shops that employed Democrats. In Washington that seamless coordination between his office and the lobbying corridor of K Street has become known as DeLay Inc. It developed the muscle to push or block pretty much everything DeLay asked for, from protecting tax breaks for low-wage garment manufacturers on the Northern Mariana Islands (where DeLay spent New Year's Day 1998 with his wife and Buckham) to creating a Medicare prescription-drug plan that critics say is a better deal for pharmaceutical companies than it is for seniors.
Now the machinery that DeLay and his pastor built threatens to derail DeLay. He was slapped three times last year by the House ethics committee for violations of House rules, and finds himself potentially facing more serious trouble on multiple fronts. Each day seems to bring another embarrassing headline and more lawmakers' being caught up in allegations of impropriety that surround the lobbyists--many, like Buckham, former DeLay staff members--who have traded on their access to him. The Washington Post reported last week that DeLay (as well as six other Representatives from both parties and several congressional aides) had over the past four years accepted trips to South Korea, paid for by a registered foreign agent--a violation of House rules.
As it happens, the foreign agent in question--a group called the Korea- U.S. Exchange Council, funded largely by the Korean holding company Hanwha Group--lists its address as the same waterfront Georgetown office suite as Buckham's lobbying business. Edward Stewart, who not only manages international business for Buckham's Alexander Strategy Group but also is the Korean group's Washington representative, declined to comment on the controversy. Buckham, 46, did not return telephone calls and e-mails seeking an interview. The lawmakers named by the Post, including DeLay, say they were not aware that the group was a foreign agent. Indeed, it didn't register as one until three days before DeLay left for his trip to South Korea in August 2001.
"With Tom, it's going to have to be more than just allegations. Tom has done so much fund raising."
-Rep. Mark Souder, R-Ind.
Where the controversy goes from here is difficult to say. DeLay's increasingly precarious situation has paralyzed the House ethics committee. Democrats on the committee, one of the few in Congress in which they have as many votes as Republicans do, have shut it down. The Democrats refuse to accept a new rule that would prevent the committee from launching any investigation without the support of at least one Republican--a restriction designed to protect the majority leader. The strain is showing on DeLay, who was treated in a hospital last week for fatigue and an irregular heartbeat. And for the first time, a significant number of Republicans have begun to question DeLay's political survival. Frets a senior G.O.P. Congressman about the odor surrounding DeLay: "It just isn't going away."
The political operation that DeLay and Buckham built pushed hard against the boundaries of campaign-finance laws--and on occasion overstepped them. The National Republican Congressional Committee agreed last year to pay a $280,000 fine for improperly transferring $500,000 in 1999 to an outside organization to run radio ads against Democrats. Buckham had convinced the Republican Party to make the donation to the group. Although he maintained that he was merely a fund raiser for the organization, his wife was on its payroll (earning $59,000 in 1997), its truck was registered at his residence, and his lobbying business operated at the time from a town house the group owned. Democrats, howling that the whole operation was a front for DeLay's political machine, filed a racketeering lawsuit against the whip. They later settled, after DeLay spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
DeLay has been neither apologetic nor subtle about his coziness with the corporate and ideological groups that have business before Congress. "It's in their interest to keep a Republican majority, and it's a way to keep a Republican majority and get our job done," he told the Washington Post in 1999. "It's sort of, 'Scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours.'" DeLay was so effective at getting his way that he became known as "the Hammer," and as he rose a notch in ranks to majority leader, the question everyone asked was not whether but when he would achieve his dream of becoming Speaker of the House.
Buckham, originally from Nashville, Tenn., had come a long way from his first job on Capitol Hill, as an intern in the early 1980s, clipping newspapers and fetching coffee for the staff of the Senate Republican policy committee. He got to know DeLay during a seven-year hitch as executive director of the House Republican study committee, which was something of an idea factory for the G.O.P. during its wilderness days of what then seemed like perpetual minority status in the House. Together DeLay and Buckham worked to push their party to the right on issues like taxes, welfare and federal regulatory policy. When the Republicans took control of the House, Buckham moved over to DeLay's whip's office, staying three years before he announced he needed to spend more time with his wife and four children.
But even at an official distance, while Buckham built his own operation, he became more deeply involved than ever with DeLay. "[Buckham] was always there, ever present," recalls a former aide to then Speaker Newt Gingrich, whose office never completely trusted DeLay's. Buckham put DeLay's wife Christine on the payroll of his thriving Alexander Strategy Group from 1998 to 2002, according to DeLay's financial-disclosure forms. Buckham also hired Tony Rudy--who had been DeLay's press secretary, policy director, deputy chief of staff and general counsel--as well as Karl Gallant, who had served as executive director of DeLay's political-action committee. Buckham's firm has a long and lucrative client list, which, according to its website, includes the American Bankers Association, BellSouth, Eli Lilly, Fannie Mae, R.J. Reynolds and Time Warner (parent of this magazine).
"I'm sure that it's in the best interest of the majority leader and the majority to have an accounting of what transpired."
-Rep. J.D. Hayworth, R-Ariz.
For most Republicans, the occasional controversy used to seem a small price to pay for the prodigious amounts that DeLay was raising and contributing to their campaigns. Had it not been for the six additional seats that Texas picked up in the House last year, thanks to a redistricting plan engineered by DeLay, George W. Bush would not have been the first re-elected President since F.D.R. to gain seats in Congress. And DeLay has always been solicitous of G.O.P. Representatives as individuals--adjusting the House schedule to accommodate a daughter's recital, knowing who needs a place to smoke and who is having a family crisis, making sure there is pizza in his office to tide members over during late-night votes. Given the majority leader's high profile in the intensely partisan atmosphere of the House, many Republicans agree with DeLay spokesman Dan Allen that attacks to some extent "come with the territory."
But much of the goodwill toward DeLay has begun to evaporate over the past year, as controversies have piled up like bricks in a wall around him. A Texas grand jury is examining allegations that one of his committees sent illegal corporate contributions to Republican candidates in 2002 legislative races there. In September it handed up indictments for three people, including the head of DeLay's political-action committee, and Travis County district attorney Ronnie Earle has not ruled out the possibility of charges against DeLay.
Then there is the spreading scandal around high-flying lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a former producer of low-budget movies whose most marketable asset was access to DeLay. Here, too, Buckham appears to have played a key role. "How did Jack Abramoff get into Tom DeLay's office?" asks a source close to the majority leader. "Ed Buckham." Abramoff and former DeLay spokesman Michael Scanlon are being investigated by the Senate and Justice Department for allegedly defrauding Indian tribes that had hired them as lobbyists. Abramoff and Scanlon refused to comment at Senate hearings last year and have denied wrongdoing. The two are suspected of convincing the tribes to spend vast amounts on such extravagances as basketball-arena skyboxes for parties for members of Congress and their staffs. The pair may have violated tax or criminal laws in their lobbying efforts and have also involved members of Congress, including California Representative John Doolittle and Arizona Representative J.D. Hayworth, who used the skyboxes but did not report their use as campaign donations, as required by law. DeLay and a number of other lawmakers are in hot water as well for accepting Abramoff-arranged foreign golfing junkets, including one to Scotland's fabled St. Andrews course. The Washington Post reported Saturday that DeLay's trip was indirectly financed by Indian tribes and gambling interests through payments to a nonprofit policy group that was sponsoring the trip. House rules would have prohibited direct payment. Most of the politicians who took trips organized by Abramoff claim they thought the junkets were paid for by charities or policy groups.
Even DeLay's efforts to defend himself have become tangled up in controversy. In December his legal-defense fund--which over the past four years has raised nearly $1 million in donations from corporations ranging from tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds and Reliant Energy to Domino's Pizza, as well as more than $300,000 from fellow members of Congress--was forced to return funds from registered lobbyists because those contributions violate House ethics rules.
But what has most angered Representatives about DeLay was a vote he engineered in December in the House Republican conference to change its rules so that G.O.P. congressional leaders could keep their posts even if they were indicted for a crime--a move that was clearly designed to protect his power if the Texas case took a bad turn. The move blindsided even Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. The conference withdrew the change in the ensuing political firestorm but left in place the proposal, now being opposed by Democrats, that would make it impossible for the ethics committee to launch an investigation against any Representatives without a majority vote.
So, will DeLay survive? Capitol Hill has seen a fair share of its leaders fall to scandal over the past 15 years or so, and insiders will tell you there are signs to watch for. While a sense of foreboding is undeniably in the air, Republicans still seem fairly solidly behind the leader to whom they owe so much. "With Tom, it's going to have to be more than just allegations. Tom has done so much fund raising," says Indiana Representative Mark Souder. But he acknowledges, "There's a general feeling from all of us that Tom could be more careful. The accumulation of Mariana Islands, Korea, the stuff in Texas has some people wringing their hands more than others."
After the debacle over the ethics rules, more than a few House members say they can ill afford to put their necks out much farther for DeLay. And their support could erode further--and quickly--if they start hearing complaints about DeLay from their constituents at home. "As members head home, they'll review the various media reports," says Arizona's Hayworth, who has been burned by revelations that he used a skybox supplied by Abramoff for fund raising. "I'm sure that it's in the best interest of the majority leader and the majority to have an accounting of what transpired."
A more ominous sign for DeLay: those who might succeed him have begun quietly positioning themselves to make a move if the opportunity arises, sources say. Among the possible successors most frequently mentioned are majority whip Roy Blount of Missouri, National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Tom Reynolds of New York, House Education Committee chairman John Boehner and leadership chairman Rob Portman of Ohio. Not so long ago, it looked as though the speakership would be DeLay's for the taking after Hastert left the post, probably after the next election. But if DeLay is doing any praying in his office these days, it's probably to hold on to the job he has.

Indecision is like the weather in Oklahoma....
The biggest problem that folks with ADD have is indecision. They are bombarded with thoughts which cause more worry. Sometimes, they get bogged down with worrying about pleasing others and the critic that is so harsh and cutting within themselves.
This critic develops after all the hard blows, emotional abuse from parents, peers and mocking from others over the years for being and thinking differently. You are ostracized by others until the point that your own self esteem and worth is shattered. You give the appearance that you are aloof when you have learned it is safer to be away from others that are close minded and don't accept differences. The creative self within you gets shut away for fear of what others think and that what you are doing is not worth while your efforts. The harder they try to please others, the more will be taken from their souls. (sorry for using you and us freely but I want you to understand that I am talking others that suffer with these traits as I do:(
Muffy was telling me of her friend very into feminist causes also beats herself up and has the same indecisive paralysis that plagues her and prevents her from even getting out of the house just like I do. I know that we crave support and approval from others. When it is not there we think what is the point of even leaving our houses.
It is a long hard haul for us but I know how we can flourish when we are with the right folks that are positive energies that don't want to tear us down because of their desire to put themselves higher on the pecking order. We need to avoid negative forces that want us to succeed and away from the animalistic urge to subdue or put the other dog in "their place" lower on the food chain.
It has been fun coming back and feeling welcome in my neighborhood. I look forward to my walks with Charles. I am happy that I am getting along my western neighbors.
I enjoyed treating them to my favorite Chinese Buffet restaurant and being invited into their home again. It is nice to sometimes let go of the past so that you are not brooding over it. It is so much easier to forgive than hold in hate and grudges but it is always important to not let your guard down regardless of your nature to want to see the good in folks.
This journal has been very open and honest with conflicts that have happened and some of them have been resolved. In order for there to be material for a book there has to be a common theme such as getting kicked out of bars where "liberal" deep discussion will not be tolerated.
There is conflict with neighbors that is almost as funny as some of the things in "Desperate Housewives". I think that making some of the things that were very serious to have a comedic irony would intrigue the audience....
It is amazing how much better one feels when he writes it down....I am thinking of others that kept a journal like Samuel Peeps did for later audiences to see in a movie a few hundred years later about England's actors and the first actress...
I love constructive input...at this point this website is very experimental but I would love for others to get involved especially with the part about putting much of it on the site where we can download the films of Buffy in several versions, one for Jesus Land and the other with a more intellectual Buffy questioning her existence and whether she has a soul that is part of this whole collective consciousness..
I want others to be better able to see the world according to Garvald and Buffy with little film vignettes...
I need muses....creative supports to the serious and funny essays...And I really need technical support because computers are still like Greek to moi :( I am happy that Dave and Steph have offered their invaluable tech support...It would be great that the 'hood participates in this site!
I don't need Bubbanon only leaving personal shit but it would be nice if he/she actually told what essays he/she loved to hate?? Sometime folks like to read or watch something because they hate it so much....Why do some of us enjoy watching Fox? We are curious about how Hannity or O'Reilly will make a jerk of themselves to reinforce our feelings of why we love to hate them...
.. sometime I love to hate Bush and Karl Rove just to see what kind of power hungry malevolence they will incur under the guise of "democracy"..
We want to know what is going on but are afraid to be truly honest for fear others' reactions...We love to be flies on the walls...But flies have the tendencies to get on your nerves when they all of sudden hit a cord that was not questioned before...
We all have voyeuristic tendencies...but we much prefer to look out of tinted windows so we can see others without them seeing us...
This will be continued .... with relish and green mustard ....Wasabbeee?
love, Garv
The biggest problem beside all the mistakes from carelessness is that I procrastinate
and put off doing what really needs to be done to succeed...Like at least setting a plan and following it instead of wallowing in self pity...watch I'll say this and Bubba and Muffy will get on my case about it too!
She is right about taking the pill. Thanks for listening whether you are rolling your eyes or seething at this totally openly honest journal...you don't want to hear this rendition on the violin that's been sounding way too much like a song that is getting on your nerves!
Maybe I will feel better after I take Buffy out for sushi and a walk in the windy park!
Monday, March 14, 3 days until St. Patty's and have you seen Garvald San Diego?
I am so excited with life that I just want to write and talk to whomever might tune into my station. Eventually folks my brains might have the technology of how to put my little soliloquies on this website! It's 420 AM and I feel good but always with the impending thought of mortality. We have only a short while to live life as best as we can. We wish that our own soul, our visions, our sight will be all saved into this collective consciousness that some can tune into. It is far out, but I am more and more thinking that vibes and images can be transferred across space. When we do that we might be tuning into that consciousness. When we let ourselves go of anger we are much more conducive to these thought waves. I know how animals are much more in tune to psychic forces enough that they all moved to higher ground away from the water...how animals know across the globe when their master dies..
now pass me the doobie!..but I am serious...I will now retire to this DVD of
of these Shakespearean actors and the first actress during the lascivious reign of Charles the second. Charles the Second escaped to France when the Puritans temporarily took over England and then were to sent to JesusLand.
Charles learned how to have a good time in France and had many mistresses. I think it was about that time that the word FUCK,
Fornication Under the Consent of the King so the king could have legitimate heirs from his queen was invented, 1680.
Main Entry: [2]fuckFunction: nounDate: 16801 : usually obscene : an act of copulation 2 : usually obscene : a sexual partner 3 a : usually vulgar :
DAMN 2 b : usually vulgar : used especially with the as a meaningless intensive stupping ....
Tuesday March 15th...I'll probably hang out here with McOkies drinking 3.2 green beer for St. Pat's at Oconnell's or Bricktown. I remember when Alene and I made a day of the festivities,,,At least there'll be some sun and reach 60! Buffy is growing like a weed...I can't figure a way to show her pics..she is so adorable...I never thought that I would fall in love with a dog! Who thinks I should take her with me dressed in a greeen outfit??...she would be the best looking blonde green canine in the world!
11 PM:I am so proud of Muffy. My Australian father who is world famous for philosophy sent her some of the articles that he wrote. She was so impressed with how well he wrote and how everything made sense. I admit that many of my pieces do not have the coherence. She will write a letter back to him about the article. He will be so impressed that I'm dating someone that can comprehend his very heavy material. She is so smart! (she rolls her eyes)
ADD comes from my mother's side of the family and I am even more bizarre when cannabized....but seriously, I am so proud of the way she went to Jefferson, the capital of Missouri with over 400 women to fight for reproductive rights. It is scary how these Repukes are making this government as far right as the Baptists want it to go. In sex education in her daughters middle school there is no talk of condoms except that they are 85% effective (misleading fact). They are preaching abstinence only...wow get serious!... like prohibition, we are not going to stop folks from sinning, young and old. (don't get me started)....
I am so proud of her...she even stuck a pro-choice bumper sticker on her senator's door in Jefferson when no one was looking...Way to go, girl! This kind of stuff is what she needs to get into instead of serving food or booze! I can imagine her working for Hillary's campaign fighting all the dirty tactics of the evil dirty tricksters. My feisty alpha female will kick the asses of these Karl Rovian Repukes!
I want her to write an essay about her day in Jefferson....Maybe, Muffy??. ...She even wrote a letter to Harper's and was complimented on it by the editor himself for some of her eloquent passages! Maybe she will let us see that letter too?
...I'm gonna watch this movie, "High Fidelity", with John Cusack about some young blokes in limbo in Chicago. It was adapted from a story about the same situation about 20 something folks in London. Maybe I will feel eloquent later :) after reading what
Rolling Stones magazine says about Hunter S. Thompson.

Buffy the mental demon slayer!~
I get really excited sometimes when I feel that everything will take off and whatever project that evolves from this website will be wonderful. I have had more fun with Buffy and the camcorder than I have had in a long time.
I sometimes feel that I am overcoming the demons that I have been dealing with as far as Alene passing away, my own self worth as a person and as a teacher. I have learned to become much more honest with myself.
I sometimes feel that all the negatives that say I cannot do it will succeed and overwhelm me causing me to let myself fall into this downward spiraling feeling of depression as we eventually have to resign ourselves to letting go on this fleeting moment of life within this shell . Time flies by without anything accomplished and feel little time left to really get the "motor runnin'".
Teaching has been one of the avenues of discovering who I am and what I can do. I have had so many failures and rejections in my life but I have learned about my own tenacity as a survivor. I have learned that I do keep getting up. I have a home that I have almost paid off and I have done many things and visited many lands.
One my biggest pleasures in this short life if it were to whur past me in my last moments of life is the warm connections and love with other people and now a wonderful canine, Buffy. :)
Since she has come into my life I have become more aware of the wonderful things in life. I feel smarter, more aware and happier. I look forward to coming home to be with her.
I love her company on trips. She keeps me company on walks when I am alone. It is so amazing and I realize how they are man's best friend. It is now 1:30 am and Buffy has fallen asleep on my lap while I type. She is curled up in a warm ball. I just feel so much more warmer and centered when she is next to me.
I see how others become so attached to her. I am just amazed that I have been the luckiest person to have the most beautiful blonde dog in the world. She is snoring now just like I do. Muffy says that I look like her and feel the compliment because I love taking pictures of us both together.
I thought that if children were ever going to be in my future, I would need to know that I could at least demonstrate to myself that I can be responsible enough to take care of a canine. It's amazing about love that it grows on you, where every day you love her more.
Buffy has almost made me want to believe in God or some wonderful energy in the universe that can be used for good. There are positive vibes in the world.
I often feel the energy of all the people that have passed away. There is a tremendous energy from the folks that perished from that great wave.
These people want us to have wonderful lives just as Alene wants me to go on living and enjoying life. She wants me to be happy. I feel her energy through Buffy sometimes.
My little blonde canine looks at me with unconditional love and I just feel so wonderful. I pick her up and hold her. Her warmth invigorates me almost as if she was born to be my companion as she grew up and I grew older. She is helping me come to terms with my own mortality. I am learning to get up earlier at least to see the start of a new day with her.
(Tears well up in my eyes and I go see where she is. She is asleep on my bed and looks guilty for getting on my bed. She gets off and goes into her kennel. I reach for her inside the kennel and put her on my chest as I lay on the bed. She rests comfortably on me and I feel the rush of her invigorating warmth and love. Wow, what a rush!)She is teaching me to be good to myself in my second half of life as I progress to the next half of my century! She is teaching me that these will be the best years of my life with her. She will see me blossom. I sense her wisdom as I would from an old soul brought down to help others in need. She has already given to Muffy and her daughter. I have seen the best out of them. I have seen the goodness of strangers when they see her with me. I see the warmth in other that she brings out.
I get so excited when I am writing and talking to other folks in different ways. I sense that there will be many ways that I will be able to reach you. I want to talk to folks in person, on the computer and through video. I love to be a ham in front of the camcorder. I have recently rediscovered unconditional love through Buffy. I have given to her and she has been around for me almost as if an angel brought her to me.

Regurgitations of a Repuklican
It's funny the way neo conservatives or just folks brainwashed by Fox and Rush can twist words around....
intelligent debate from the loony and intelligent left is apreciated but ignorant comments that are indicative of poor schooling and upbringing are sometimes very boring :)
you refer to poor upbringing when I said poor schooling and poor parenting (I have stated this in previous essays) I have the honesty to say that I am not employed by some bitchy administrator ...
I will not be undermined in a very ineffective school system where students are rewarded for annoying behavior and have the backing of the parents
much of it is from poor nutrition and rich repukes in their anonymous glass houses that love to throw barbs or bombs from the safety and their own self righteous sanctity of their church filled with "Sunday Christians" with deluded hypocritical ideas that Jesus carries an NRA card and wants to bomb abortion clinics
then there are the folks enlarging their livers with their only aerobic workout being 12 0z lifts of empty carbs....they inhale several packs of cigarettes on their high horse thinking they are better than others because they have some meaningless job paid for by our taxes or conned out of brainwashed consumers that cannot think for themselves
they spout of jokes about Hillary with about the same regularity as Fox or the shit they spew out everyday eating and breathing the processed junk of this economy and Repuklican corporations
you go to your favorite pub like it is a church and die an early death from cancer or heart disease
indiignation
I have chosen to take time off and when this project that includes ignorant statements from yourself, I will be laughing all the way to the bank
You have been brainwashed by our "work" ethic.
you think that writing is not working
the fact, my dear "overeducated bubbanon, is that when I am laughing all the way to the bank making fun of neo nazis
while you get angry and jealous over what I am saying
you will be the first one to add to the profit of this enterprise
I have the patience and fiscal conservativism to out wait impatient lemmings as yourself
glad to see your back with your negative nazi comments!
evolution of a dirty word in the southern red states; The label of liberal is something that many politicans now seek to avoid, since it is out of keeping with the public mood. In the presidential campaign of 1988 George Bush used this to telling advantage, labeling his Democratic opponent Michael Dukakis a liberal, and making the term sound subversive and un-American. President Clinton tried to distance himself from traditional liberalism in his campaign of 1992, calling himself a New Democrat instead
So since George Bush and Limbaugh, being generous has become a bad thing while wasting money on a war in a foreign country is a good thing! very sad!

12 days till St. Pat's and maybe we ought to name a day after our counter culture's martyr to the cause, St. Hunter Thompson Day?
I would like to do some more blogging to find out about the questionable suicide of Hunter S. Thompson. Knowing the alleged record of our wonder full of it neo Nazis, it makes me wonder how powerful administrations even under a democracy such as ours, can get away with murder?
I know you will want to question Clinton putting a way some people. Maybe he did and maybe Frank S. , Giancanna, Peter Lawford and the president all had gang banged Marilyn and had to shut up so they made it look like a "suicide" with an overdose of sleeping pills?
Maybe there are aliens?
Maybe there is a god and George might not have the red hotline to God?
All I know is that many bloggers want to know the truth. More than likely in less than 20 years there will be enough leaks about this overly corrupt and power hungry administration to show many movies about all the injustices that have truly been done. It will be interesting to see how he (GW) really comes out in the history books and the movies. How did we view Stalin and Hitler back then as compared to now with the results of their addictions to power?
Well, it is such a gorgeously orgasmic day!
I'd love to go out and body surf in the positve waves of KC, Mo., Belton, Lees Sumitt Harrisonville, Independence, Grandview and outlying caucasian flight towns
in the serendipity of the warm tasty winds of spring and global warming???...
I will have a date with Buffy, find a park with lots of tasy soccer/volleyball moms
in one of these burbs. Maybe some bloke will want to discuss the maverick of Harrisonville who has bought up property in downtown historic Harrisonville
while the stores were cheap when the megaconglomerate, Walmart, consumed the downtown businesses in about 1996. He had robbed a bank and went to prison. Now he's rich and laughing all the way to the bank while the patriarchs of the town are out to get him.
I
love that kind of rebellious spirit that is part our human race from the ancient picts fighting the Romans that dare come over Hadrian's wall to the trailer trash that gets tired of the barbarians from the south taking away their jobs!
(that is not meant to sound racist but it is true!
well, while I am in this cannabized state with the adrenaline of excitement and Java,
I need to go out with my favorite toy, the camcorder and interview folks of both persuasions and parties and genders!....
I cannot wait to get out in the world but I feel just the need to tell you much I am learning to be in love with this gorgeous moment of temporary exhiliration called life....I am about to take this very powerful wave that could take me a way to a new more exotic and enriching place of existence....
it is all in the state of mind of how you will let your true self come out
when you feel the zone,
the curl
the feeling that I'm unda
yea darlin
gonna make it happen
take the world in a love embrace
fire all of your guns at once and
EXPLODE INTO SPACE!
mmmmm, baby, I am feelin so eroticized and self actualized that I was wishing that I was reading poetry to the horny intellectuals of the Okie Land for the "erotic artist's Festival in downtown Okc"
they are inviting that erotic Hispanic singer, Fellatio Fenandez!
Samstag March 12th: 5 days till green beer!
It's nice to be able to accomplish one or two things that have been weighing on your mind for a long time. Walking into "Henry's BudisStoned" after hibernation and buying the smallest refigerator to keep your opened evaporated milk and beer cold!
So I take Buffy for a brief walk until realizing that I had forgot the camcorder and underestimated my desire for a little more bud>
This morning I felt like revelling in the temptation of a warm spring with the flowers all starting to blossom and I am in love with Buffy, Muffy and the inner child that can be sweet and within everyone, even the insecure bartender
that doesn't know the word, utopia.
I decided it might be best to avoid him and his attitude, so I decided to read for a couple of drafts and the 2$ chicken special. The waitress was nice and I was fine until the bartender turned down the lights so that I couldn't read anymore.
It is cool to walk and face the embarrassment or pains in the past and be able to move on. I was reading the intro about how our critics within ourselves are our biggest demons. Walking into a place like that and to be able to breath is like a sigh of relief like a girlfriend that you never really liked but just the fact that you saw her fat and a psycho helped get over the trauma of the relationship.

Questionable suicide for Hunter Thompson while he was investigating 9/11
Hunter Thompson was working on WTC collapse story before mysterious sudden death, warned he'd be 'suicided'
Total 9/11 Info/Prison Planet March 2 2005
Toronto Globe and Mail February 26, 2005:
Hunter telephoned me on Feb. 19, the night before his death. He sounded scared. It wasn't always easy to understand what he said, particularly over the phone, he mumbled, yet when there was something he really wanted you to understand, you did. He'd been working on a story about the World Trade Center attacks and had stumbled across what he felt was hard evidence showing the towers had been brought down not by the airplanes that flew into them but by explosive charges set off in their foundations. Now he thought someone was out to stop him publishing it: "They're gonna make it look like suicide," he said. "I know how these bastards think . . ."
Hunter S. Thompson ... was indeed working on such a story.
Now check out this February 25 Associated Press story about Thompson's death. Sounds a lot like a professional hit with a silencer:
"I was on the phone with him, he set the receiver down and he did it. I heard the clicking of the gun," Anita Thompson told the Aspen Daily News in Friday's editions.
She said her husband had asked her to come home from a health club so they could work on his weekly ESPN column...
Thompson said she heard a loud, muffled noise, but didn't know what had happened. "I was waiting for him to get back on the phone," she said.
(Her account to Rocky Mountain News reporter Jeff Kass is slightly different: "I did not hear any bang," she told Kass. She added that Thompson's son, who was in the house at the time, believed that a book had fallen when he heard the shot, according to Kass' report.)
Mack White sums up the questions well:
Thompson's family says he was not depressed, nor was he in enough to pain to kill himself. In fact, by all reports, he was quite happy. He was talking on the phone to his wife, getting ready to work on his column, when he decided it would be wise to kill himself, so that he could go out (we are told) while "still at the top of his form," even though this would mean not finishing his column or his expose on 9/11 (potentially the most important thing he would ever write) (?)...
RELATED: Hunter S. Thompson Suicide Story Changes
This account says Thompson killed himself while sitting in a chair on his typewriter and yet the original account tells us that Thompson shot himself while talking to his wife on the phone in the kitchen. Why has the story changed andwhat is the significance of the word typed on the paper in light of the fact that Thompson said he would be 'suicided' before being able to release a major story on explosives bringing down the twin towers?

(speaking of threats recently I went on of these whining right wing sites that continually insult liberals and are deluded into thinking the media is "liberal",
I put on a few comments till the point that they started threatening me;

Buffy meets Muffy!
So it finally happened. My blonde, sharpe, chow, multiracial bitch meets my lady and everything goes as predicted!
It is like sky rockets in flight
afternoon delight!
They connect the way Thelma and Louise connected!
They had an instant telepathic interconnecting of thought so much that I could see Buffy leave me to go on some wild road trip with out me!
Girls only!
It was when Muffy fed her that rice and Chinese brocoli from her favorite drive thru oriental restaurant. Buffy scarfed up her food while nestled in her maternal lap and realized that this women can feed her better than this bald giant who never satisfies her apetite.
Muffy is a female of the animal species also and understands the female gender so much better!
She knows how to take care of a daughter.
Buffy knows who the alpha female is of the household and sees how the bald giant much bigger than her, cowers under the power this woman can have over her pack.
Garvald has good taste with women and he knows how to pick out beautiful alpha females.
He has picked out the cutest most charismatic, golden, alpha puppy that he has encountered in his life. He sees her as his canine soulmate and is well worth having the 204$ major medical for her.
He brings her up her knowing that she will also be a shu in for the adoration of Muffy's daughter!
The daughter finally talks to Garvald asking for her to play several times!
Muffy, Buffy and Garvald all snuggle up on the couch to laugh at Chris Rock doing an effective
ridicule of Bush. Imagine Bush running the Gap the way he has put this country into debt.
Then lets start a war with the the Banana Republic accusing them of tank tops when they don't have them.(Don't get me started!)

I finally broke down and invested in a camcorder so that I could film Buffy and interview folks throughout the world about the ever increasing power of the most dangerous president our country has had in history! With the history of Bush and all the dirty tricks directed by Rove and all the new Neo Nazis, it would not surprise me that Bush had Hunter Thompson assasinated when he started investigating about the government actually knowing about 9/11 and wanting to cover it up like #Watergate!
